THE INTERPLAY OF IRIDESCENT AND VELVET REFLECTIONS

For the official opening of BaselWorld 2017, the watchmaker from Lucerne has unveiled two new watches with mother-of-pearl dials, adorned by bezels set with diamonds.

It must be said that the name of the new watch designed by Carl F. Bucherer is far from being poetic or graceful: the Manero Peripheral. But why “Peripheral“? Quite simply for a technical reason: the motor driving this pair of watches runs on the energy produced by its peripheral and bi-directional rotor. In short, this is a watch with mechanical aspects that are just as important as its aesthetic elements.

The new Manero Peripheral is available in two models. While one has a pure and angelic face formed by a white mother-of-pearl disc, the other plays on velvety chocolate effects for a result that is deep, intense and as rich as a creamy cup of hot chocolate!

Each dial is adorned with an hour rim featuring triangular and faceted indices around which the set of silver dauphine-style hands turn. The hands show the hours and minutes, while the seconds are placed separately in a counter at 6 o’clock.

The functions featured on the Manero Peripheral model are powered by an automatic movement made by Carl F. Bucherer, the CFB A2050 calibre, which provides a power reserve of 55 hours, and is housed in a 40mm stainless steel case.

Price on request.
