CHOPARD – L.U.C PERPETUAL CHRONO
Chopard has paired a flyback chronograph with a perpetual calendar. This cutting-edge mechanism is housed in an exceptional platinum case.
Substance and style. That’s one challenge that Chopard has pulled off with ease with the L.U.C Perpetual Chrono. This limited edition watch (20 available) oozes exclusivity and has two handy complications incorporated into its manual wind movement: a flyback chronograph and perpetual calendar. The brand has explored the rules of symmetry with two chronograph counters in bicompax displays to showcase the time information with flair. Slim red-tipped hands track the hours and minutes once the stopwatch has started. A large central seconds hand ensures short time is measured with the utmost accuracy. A second hand in each counter points to the weekday and calendar month respectively. The leap year cycle and day/night indicator are presented in two off-centre displays whilst a small seconds hand glides over the delicate moon phases at 6.
Despite the abundance of information, the timepiece is easy to read. The mechanical architecture is housed in a generous 45mm platinum case. The time displays appear on a glowing gold dial adorned with a hand-turned sunburst pattern. A galvanised coating gives it a blue tinge that subtly enhances the contrast for the ultimate in visibility.
Last but least, the L.U.C Perpetual Chrono also has two certifications. The accuracy of the movement has been approved by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). Like any platinum Chopard watch, this one has been subject to the prestigious Geneva Seal’s assessment criteria to guarantee watchmaking excellence.
