FREDERIQUE CONSTANT – SLIMLINE MOONPHASE MANUFACTURE
The new slimline moonphase manufacture by Frédérique Constant has been given a vintage glow
The Genevan brand has once again proven that quality and affordability can come together.
Is there such a thing as a classic watch with an in-house movement for under 4000 Swiss Francs? It sounds too good to be true but it’s the target that Frédérique Constant has set itself and achieves on a daily basis with the motto “great watches, great prices.” The company based in Plan-les-Ouates in the Geneva canton can take pride in its Manufacture collection with twenty calibres all designed and made in its workshops. A newcomer has joined the famous watch collection: Slimline Moonphase Manufacture.
The vintage-look timepiece is sumptuously slender, hence the name Slimline. The 42mm steel case makes it ideal for both men and women and its slim polished bezel beautifully frames the dial. A notched ball-shape crown at 3 enables you to wind the watch as well as set the functions and displays without overloading the look or comfort of the piece with lots of pushers.
The delicately sunburst ivory dial has a silver hour rim with slender applied markers. A pair of leaf-shape hands track the hours and minutes but the star of the show (dare we say it?!) is at the bottom of the dial. A counter features a date with hand and a moon phase display with a blue disc bearing the moon on a starry blue sky.
All the functions and 42-hour power reserve are brought to life by the in-house FC-705 calibre. You can gaze at the movement’s design through the sapphire back on this Slimline Moonphase Manufacture.
