MB&F – LM2 TITANIUM
REINTERPRETING THEIR OWN CODES
Four years after it was launched, one of the timepieces from the Legacy Machine collection by MB&F is back, with titanium armour and a slightly slimmer silhouette, and all in a limited edition.
Is it the arrival of spring, which we hope will be soon, that has inspired Maximilian Büsser and his team to design this new, greener and more slender version of the Legacy Machine? Or the success of the green dial on the LM1 M.A.D Dubai edition, launched in 2016, that has prompted MB&F to give the LM2 Titanium a blue-green colour? In the end, no matter what inspired them because the new LM2 Titanium is here!
In 2013, the Geneva-based brand presented its first LM2, available in pink or white gold or in a limited edition of 18 titanium pieces. Four years later, the LM2 Titanium is back after undergoing a few aesthetic changes. To begin with, this edition, limited to 18 pieces, has been on a mini diet, and its 44mm case is now 19mm thick, a decrease of 1mm compared with previous versions. Next, the bezel that had a brushed finish is now polished instead. And to conclude, under the sapphire glass dome, the two balance wheels that swung to the slow rhythm of 18 800 alterations per hour (2.5Hz) and seem to float in the air are now suspended by four bridges in the form of refined and rounded arches.
Yet the highlight, if we may put it like that, is the colour, half way between blue and green, on the face of the LM2 Titanium. Obtained by CVD – Chemical Vapour Deposition – the hypnotic colour contrasts with the offset dial at 12 o’clock. This white-enamelled disc features an hour rim made up of black Roman numerals and blue hour and minute hands.
The watch is driven by a manual-winding mechanism and provides a power reserve of about 45 hours.
